Meet Gilded Honey Designs

Ann-Elise Mitcham, owner of Gilded Honey Designs, started taking sewing lessons at the age of 10 years old, and continued to practice this skill working on various crafts throughout the years. She started Gilded Honey Designs in July 2022 after teaching herself to make pet bandanas and other pet accessories. Not only do her products reflect a skill that she’s been perfecting for years now, her business name is also a reflection of her. She wanted her business name to evoke a “golden yellow feeling,” since yellow is her favorite color. She also wanted bumblebees, a favorite insect, to be a part of the business name, thus Gilded Honey Designs was born!

Ann-Elise is a creative at heart, and currently loves knitting and sewing. She also has several other crafts on her bucket list that she would love to eventually pick up, like pottery, crocheting, painting, jewelry making, and more. She would also like to potentially collaborate with Parish Pets in the future. Since they have similar products, she thinks that their combined expertise would mesh well together. When she’s not creating or attending Local Pop Up markets, Ann-Elise works a full-time job in research as a member of the regulatory team. She has the role of making sure doctors and investigators are up-to-date with any training and documentation. She also facilitates communication between her research team and companies who sponsor their research.

While Ann-Elise is busy sewing her bandanas, her two dogs, Tucker and Sage, love giving her moral support. Tucker, who accompanies her to most markets, is a 4-year-old moyen poodle. Sage is a 1-year-old catahoula/hound mix who, unfortunately, is still working on manners, so she’s been unable to attend a market so far. Tucker loves curling up next to Ann-Elise while she sews, while Sage loves to unplug the sewing machine from the wall because it’s always play time!

Outside of the usual bandanas you can find at Ann-Elise’s market table or inside Local Supply, she also loves taking special orders for bandanas, bow ties, collars, or leashes! Feel free to shoot her a message on Instagram at @gildedhoneydesigns if you have anything in mind, want your pet’s name on an accessory, or have your own fabric you’d like to use. She loves being able to make something special for pets! You can find Ann-Elise at most Local Pop Up markets, and you can always find her bandanas in-store at Local Supply, or on our website at localsupplybr.com 💞🐶
